Where to Find VINs?
You can find a car's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in several places, including:
- Dashboard: On the driver's side, near the windshield, look for a metal plate or sticker with the VIN.
- Driver's side door: On the door jamb, look for a plate or sticker with the VIN.
- Engine: Stamped on the firewall.
- Chassis: Stamped into the chassis, which is why the VIN is also known as the "chassis number".
- Insurance: On your insurance card and policy.
- Title and registration: On your vehicle title and registration.
The VIN is a unique 17-character code of letters and numbers that identifies your car. It includes information about the car, such as the manufacturer, year, make, model, trim level, and when and where it was built.
The PermaGuard Claim Process
The PermaGuard claim process can be easy to complete. There are just a few things to keep in mind.
Ready to file a claim?
Wait! Are you in the right place?
If you purchased your vehicle from Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda or Denny Menholt Toyota, please use the links below to be redirected to their respective claims pages.
First, the damage that you are starting the claim on cannot be older than 30 days.
If you get a rock chip in the windshield, it's best to call as soon as you notice it so that it can get fixed before it cracks.
If the chip cracks before you call in the claim, no problem! Just call in for a windshield replacement 605-343-1282. Please contact your sales person for all windshield chip and replacement needs. If your sales person is no longer available, ask for our new or used vehicle manager to assist you and have the current vehicle miles ready to share. Your sales person or manager will file the claim and the repair or replacement will be done by Safelite Auto Glass.
Second, there is are limitations on what will be paid out on a claim.
The amount is set following industry standards for the repair in question. Your selling dealer meets this standard so there will be no out of pocket cost for any repair that is required.
If you live out of state or don't get to the dealer very often and need a claim completed; PermaGuard or IAS will send the appropriate company to you (i.e. Safelite or Stanley Steamers).
Last, there is a lot that can be covered with this warranty but there are limitations to what can be covered.
With all extended warranties purchased at a dealership, there are certain guidelines that must be met for a claim to be approved.
If a claim is denied for any reason, please call Denny Menholt Rapid Chevrolet and ask for Naomi. We want to make sure you are taken care of if we can.
